4 Fun, Free Ideas for Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day!

kids-around-globe-holding-hands-15667159February 17 is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. Here are ideas of FREE random acts of kindness that you can do for your family, friends, and community members to celebrate this important day!

1. Make a photo collage or scrapbook of happy times with your friends and family!

You can make beautiful photo art collages and scrapbooks on your iPhone with the fun, free app FollowLife! Simply add photos from your phone, organize and arrange them in an attractive way, add fun stickers, backgrounds, text, and effects, and share them with your friends and family via email, Facebook, and Twitter! It is uplifting for people to have happy photos on their phones (and all around them!) so this is a great way to do something nice for your loved ones!

2. Write notes to people letting them know you appreciate them!

You know the clerk at the grocery store, your mail carrier, or a neighbor who always brightens your day and helps to make your day easier? This is a great time to write a quick note thanking those people for their help and friendship. Our lives often get so busy that we forget to show thanks and appreciation to everyone who does nice things for us, whether those people are family, friends, or acquaintances. People thrive on appreciation, and writing people notes of thanks is a great way to show them you care!

3. Smile at people!

It’s tough seeing people rushing around every day with unfriendly expressions. While you don’t need to grin at everyone you see, making the effort to smile at the people you encounter with whom you make eye contact can make the world a softer, kinder place to be. In some cases, yours may be the only smile a person sees that day, and it can make the difference between someone having a tough day, or having a more optimistic outlook.

4. Do something extra for a family member at home!

Most of us probably feel like there are not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything we need to do. Consider making some time on Monday to do a load of laundry for a family member, cook a meal, clean an area of your house, or do something else to make your family’s day easier.

Let us know your great ideas for random acts of kindness in the comments, and have a fantastic day!
